Cignpost joins the Confederation of British Industry

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) is the UK’s leading business organisation with over 190,000 member companies representing more than 7 million people. The CBI has recently set up, for the first time, a new Health Council to bring together businesses, Government and civil society with the aim of improving health outcomes across the UK.  With this new focus on health, Cignpost has now joined the CBI to ensure our voice is heard in this important debate. 

The Health Council consists of around 30 industry and academic experts from among the UK’s leading health and wellness organisations. They aim to examine a range of areas, including how to improve occupational health, workforce health interventions, health system resilience, R&D investment in treatment, mental health policy and provision and the use of information. The Council’s goal is to become the go-to for policymakers who wish to understand the UK's entire health ecosystem, including life sciences, healthcare, fitness providers and retail. 

The Council also aims to find ways to reduce the gap in health equality faced by socially deprived communities compared to the rest of the country.
